Get Your Site Organized With Tags
Tags are a great way to organize all the stuff on your site. They can be placed on photos, albums, videos, discussions, SnapGenies and files. They're easy to use and extremely helpful when you want to find specific items or collections of items all related to the same topic.
What Are Tags?
When you add a tag to an item on your myfamily.com site, you're essentially giving it a keyword to help you easily find it in the future. For example, if you tag all photos of your father with a "Dad" tag, then searching for the word "Dad" will bring up all the photos that he's in. This applies to other item types as well, so a search on "Dad" will also bring up recipes, files or anything else with that tag.
How To Add Tags
To add a tag to an item, just find it on your site and click on the 'Add Tags' link on the right side of your screen. Type in your tags, separating each tag with a comma, and then click the 'Save' button. You can also go back to that item at any time and add more tags or edit the existing ones.
Searching For Tags
Once your items have been tagged, click on any tag to access the Search page. This page will show you everything on the site that has been given that same tag. You can then modify your search by looking up other tags or filtering by certain item types and items added by specific members.

How Do You Use myfamily.com?

"My wife’s family has a reunion every summer. Many of them live in the Radford, Virginia area and many in Southwest Virginia in Wise County. A few years ago, the reunion was held in our end of the state and there were about 60 people in attendance. However, the absence of my wife’s mother and a favorite aunt, who had passed away, was evident to all. As the older generation grew older, the kids became the adults, and new kids and spouses came on the scene, I felt the need to do something to stay in touch; to keep the family together throughout the year.
At the reunion, I passed around a sheet and asked everyone to give me their contact information in preparation for some kind of web presence for the family. Being familiar with technology, I researched and chose myfamily.com as our place to 'meet.' It was, and continues to be, a hit. Some are more active than others but we all know our family site it there. Thank you for providing a place for family to gather and share information."

Heat about a ¼ of a cup of olive oil in a large sauce pan. Add ¼ cup chopped onions and 1 minced garlic clove; sauté, stirring until tender, about 5 minutes. (Note: do not over cook the garlic. This will make it taste bitter.) Stir in 3 cans (8 oz. size) tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, 1 tablespoon of sweet basil, 1 tablespoon of rosemary. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes uncovered. Brown ¾ of a pound of sweet Italian sausage and ¼ of a pound of ground pork and add to sauce and let simmer.

In a pie pan, beat 1 egg with ¼ of a cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Slice 6 medium-size green tomatoes ½-inch thick. Lay out on a paper towel to drain. Coat tomato slices in flour, then dip into egg mixture. Add ¼ cup of olive oil to a skillet, fry tomatoes until golden brown on both sides, adding oil as needed.
